About me:
When it comes to choosing a restaurant, I always want a second opinion, so Yelp used to be a perfect solution (even though I never thought I would post my own reviews). Although their ranking system seemed overly manipulated, Yelp was a convenient source for restaurant info, so I constantly referenced it. But when highly rated restaurants on the site began to fall flat, I was inclined to set the record straight. Over 50 yelp reviews later, I had had enough and decided to create The Confoodant, a place where a network of trusted food enthusiasts could grow and post their opinions.
Is it just a blog?
Confoodant.com is still in development, but the network of confoodants has already begun to grow and are invited to post their reviews on The Confoodant blog until the real website is up and running. The blog doesn't provide the features that the full site will, but just think of it as a temporary home to start sharing restaurant tips with people you trust (and who trust you).

Perfection! Though the outside looks like a renovated sushi joint the inside is straight out of PEI with its adorable interior - the paintings are great. With 23 kinds of mussels ranging from traditional to inspired recipes you can't go wrong. Get the starter "Burnt Fingers" the spicy aioli is perfect with the variety of fried seafood. Even though they only opened a few weeks ago they are doing great, reservations are a must and the waitstaff is 95% from PEI too, just like ALL of the mussels and oysters!
Thoroughly impressed with the decor (especially the small hanging tin pail lights at the bar) - definitely a date spot. Try to sit in the back. Clientele was a bit older, but that may just be because it's located in the UES. The mussels were good, although I found the size of the mussels to be smaller than usual. Excellent beer selection. Just go and try it out, you'll be happy you did.
I was pleasantly surprised by the décor and definitely did not feel like I was on the UES. I love mussels so I was excited to try. The menu is made up of an exhausting list of P.E.I. mussels cooked in different variations (about 20). Feeling sort of pressured to order something unusual; we ended up with two somewhat exotic combinations. The two mussel dishes were interesting, but after eating a few, left us wishing we had stuck to a simple white wine broth or tomato base option. Both were overly seasoned with very distinct spices. If I ever end up back at the restaurant I will be sure to play it simple and also take a look at the “not mussels” section of the menu.
